Niki Olympitis has 30 years’ experience acting for institutional, business and individual clients, particularly in the field of dispute resolution.  Niki has dealt with all aspects of domestic and international commercial litigation and arbitration, handling contract disputes, asset tracing and recovery worldwide, including obtaining freezing and search and seizure orders.  He has also conducted a number of high profile and complex cases in the field of sports law.  Niki currently acts in high value insolvency and financial services litigation in the Commercial Division of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court, located in the British Virgin Islands.

In an equally competitive environment, Niki has earned sporting honours on the fencing piste, representing both England and Great Britain in the 1980s and 1990s.  He won a Commonwealth Silver Medal in Canada in 1994 and, as Captain from 1995 until 2002, he led the England Fencing Team to overall victory in Malaysia in 1998 and Australia in 2002.

  • Acting (in numerous actions) on behalf of a Formula One Grand Prix racing team.
  • Acting for offshore corporate trustees in substantial litigation arising out of the Icelandic banking system collapse.
  • Acting as BVI Special Counsel to the US Bankruptcy Trustee of Bernard L Madoff Investment Securities LLC and Bernard Madoff’s estate.
  • Acting for entrepreneurs and office-holders in cross-border insolvencies and enforcement proceedings.
  • Acting on behalf of individual and institutional clients in international arbitrations, including in the UK, Switzerland and Greece.
Professional Background
Educated at The King’s School Canterbury and University College London, Niki was admitted as a solicitor in the UK in 1980; in 2008 he was also admitted to practise as a solicitor to the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court, British Virgin Islands.
Niki was with Kennedys and Simmons & Simmons before becoming Head of Commercial Litigation at KSB Law in 1999.  In 2004, he set up his own commercial practice specialising in commercial, banking and insurance litigation and arbitration.  He joined SCA Creque in 2007.
