Admitted to practice in 1994, Marie-Lou Creque holds an honours degree in International Relations from the University of the West Indies (Mona Campus) prior to reading law.
She practiced as Clerk of the Civil Magistrate’s Court sitting at the very busy and diverse Half-Way-Tree Courts in Kingston, Jamaica and also doubled as Crown Counsel prosecuting cases for the out station of Gordon Town, St Andrew.
Marie-Lou accepted the position to head up the practice of Roberts & Co in Antigua while the head of Chambers was appointed Attorney General of Antigua. There, Marie-Lou practiced a wide area of labour, civil and family law as well as criminal law.
In 1997, Marie-Lou moved to the British Virgin Islands and practiced law with firms before accepting the position of in-house counsel to a local business. Marie-Lou established as a sole practitioner in 2003 and saw successes in civil and criminal law. She is versed in land, probate and complex contract and multi jurisdictional civil litigation. Marie-Lou joined her practice with SimmonsCooperAndrew's in 2007.
Marie-Lou is very involved in community matters and sits as Secretary to the HIV/AIDS Foundation (BVI) Limited and Prison Fellowship (BVI) Limited and is a member of the Prison Welfare Association and vestry of St George’s Anglican Church. She is admitted to practice in Jamaica, Antigua and Barbuda and the Territory of the Virgin Islands. She is married with three children.
